Ruby Castilla-Puentes, M.D.

Dr. Ruby Castilla-Puentes is a psychiatrist, physician-scientist, and mental health advocate known for her work in promoting mental health equity for Hispanic/Latinx communities and women. Key aspects of her career include:
Leadership Roles: She served as the President of the American Society of Hispanic Psychiatry (ASHP) from 2020-2022 and is the President of the Hispanic Caucus for the American Psychiatric Association.
WARMI Mental Health: She is the Co-Founder, President, and Chief Medical Officer of WARMI Mental Health, a network dedicated to improving mental health support for women in Latin America.
Pharmaceutical Industry: Dr. Castilla-Puentes has extensive experience in clinical development and medical safety for major pharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson, where she has been a senior leader in neuroscience.
Advocacy and Research: Her work focuses on integrating cultural strengths into mental health care and utilizing innovative approaches like AI to address health disparities in diverse populations. She has also authored books and numerous academic articles.
Education: She holds an MD, a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh, and an MBA in International Business.
